Holly Bergman is a 2nd year MFA student at George Mason University getting both her MFA in Creative Writing and also the Publishing Practice Certificate. She is going to graduate in Spring 2024. She currently works for the Cheuse Center for International Writers as their Communications Manager, and she also works for Capucia Publishing as a copyeditor.

She wants to go into publishing, whether that be as an editor, a literary agent, or anything inbetween.

She is also the Assistant Nonfiction Editor for So to Speak (one of GMU's literary journals) and she also reads and rates creative nonfiction for the Rumpus.
Next year in her third and final year of earning her MFA, she will work for Stillhouse Press.

She learned HTML and CSS and made this website herself :)

In her final year, she will be working on her thesis: a collection of personal essays detailing a trip she plans to take in June 2023 to attend San Francisco Pride (like her mother did back in the 1980s). The Pride theme this year is "Looking Back and Moving Forward" and she plans on retracing her mother's steps forty years later and trying to uncover what kind of a person her mother used to be before she became her mother in 1999 (and then passed away in 2021).

She is a recipient of the George Mason University Office of the Provost 2023 Summer Research Fellowship.

She has been published in Blue Earth Review and Oakland Arts Review.
